PaidStories

About

A directory of markets that pay

PaidStories is for writers who want to be paid for short fiction. It lists magazines, podcasts, anthologies and contests that pay money for stories, and gives you a free tracker for your submissions.

What gets listed

A market is listed when its own guidelines page loads and states what it pays in money. Contributor copies alone don't count. For each one we record the pay rate, the length it takes, its genres, its rules on simultaneous and multiple submissions and reprints, the response time it gives, its reading windows, any fee and the rights it buys, in the market's own words where possible. Each listing shows the date it was checked.

Closed markets stay in the list with their status, because many reopen on a schedule. A market that has shut down for good is removed.

How it's kept current

Listings are rechecked against the market's page, and the date changes when they are. Markets also change without warning, so every listing links to the source and asks you to confirm there before you submit. If you see something out of date, send it in.

The tracker

The submission tracker runs in your browser and saves to your browser. We never see your stories, titles or results. It reads the directory to warn you about each market's rules.

Who runs it

PaidStories is run by Web Landscapes LLC, a Florida company based in Miami, and built by Javier Carnicer. It has no connection to any of the markets listed. Questions go to contact@weblandscapes.com or (786) 372-0287, call or text.
